Wusthof Gourmet 7" Hollow Edge Nakiri Knife / Vegetable Cleaver

A traditional Japanese shape perfect for vegetable prep. Perfect for slicing and dicing vegetables, mincing herbs and cutting fruit or cheese. Also excellent for the preparation of meat, fish and poultry.

Since 1814, knives bearing the Wusthof name and the Trident logo have been crafted in the world's "Cutlery Capital" of Solingen, Germany. Today, in a state-of-the-art facility, that tradition of quality is ensured as old-world craftsmanship meets twenty first century production methods.

As part of Wusthof's Gourmet collection, each knife features a special blend of high-carbon German stainless steel throughout the whole length of the knife for exceptional strength and balance. Typical stamped knives are punched out like a cookie cutter. Wusthof Gourmet knives are Laser Cut. This intricate manufacturing process is superior to other "cookie cutter" methods as it is more precise and leaves the knives with less distortion. The Gourmet knives use the same steel that is used in our other more expensive knives. Wusthof uses a special blend of German steel through out the whole length of the knife. The ingredients of this steel are proudly etched on each blade. Wusthof not only uses the best materials to make a fine knife, but it is also crucial that each blade is precisely tempered. This tempering allows the knife to hold its edge for an extremely long time, yet can be maintained in your home kitchen with out the need to be sent away for maintenance. Each blade is laser tested to ensure a precise and even cutting angle. Another thoughtful detail includes the handles, which come riveted and ergonomically designed for a secure, comfortable grip.
The Nakiri Gourmet Hollow-Edge Knife that chops and slices vegetables, fruits and meats with record speed and unprecedented precision. Unlike any other blade on the market, the edge is angled on both sides for quickest, easiest slicing and chopping of vegetables. Hollow edge ensures vegetables won't cling to the blade. The qualities of a santoku knife and versatility of a Japanese cleaver are refined with a balanced blade that is 30% sharper and holds its edge 30% longer than ordinary Asian-style blades. Triple-riveted full tang handle for superior balance and maneuverability. Slices meats deli-thin for sandwiches, creates strips for stir-frying and fajitas and quickly trims uniform pieces for stews and soups without sticking to the blade.
